I can relate to this so well. I can tell you what year certain songs came out just by where I was in my life and the impact they made. I’ve noticed as I’ve aged it’s lessoned as I tend to listen to mostly older music; but every now and then songs will make an impact, but not as often as when I was younger.

Thank you for sharing that.

You described something beautiful there. Music has a way of attaching itself to moments in our lives. Certain songs don’t just remind us of a time. They take us right back to the room, the people, the emotions, the season of life we were in when we first heard them.

I think that’s why older music often feels so powerful. It carries layers of memory with it. The soundtrack of our younger years tends to be tied to so many “firsts,” which makes the connection even stronger.

And every once in a while, a new song slips through and earns its place in that memory bank. When it happens, you know it immediately. It hits differently.

That’s part of what Music Moves My Mood is about. The way music travels with us through life and quietly holds pieces of our story.
